CloseA one-piece snowsuit generally provides enough warmth for most puppies, even in colder climates. If you're in an extremely cold climate, or if your puppy is particularly sensitive to the cold, they may benefit from layering with a knit top, like our Thermal Layer Onesie! While suit styles offer the most coverage, some of our parkas provide extra warmth and can be layered with full-coverage knits. Although we don't have temperature ratings for our coats, you can check our warmth icons to find the right level of protection for your puppy! It features snap closures on the front and back legs with two adjustment points and a waist zipper for easy dressing.
Putting a snowsuit on can be tricky, especially if they don't like to stay still! There are several ways to put the snowsuit on your puppy, but you can start with the following steps:
Guide the front paws into the snowsuit.
Use the snaps on the upper front of the snowsuit to secure the front sleeves.
Guide the hind paws into the snowsuit.
Use the snaps on the back of the snowsuit to secure the hind legs.
Zip the snowsuit.
Adjust the drawstring at the neck to keep your puppy warm.
Measuring your dog is the most accurate way to ensure a proper fit! The measurements we use are the chest girth (around the widest part of the chest) and the back length (from the collar to the base of the tail). In an ideal fit, the best dog snowsuit will end at the base of the tail and won't gape at the chest, but it's acceptable for the snowsuit to be a few inches from the tail as long as your puppy has a full range of motion. If your puppy's measurements don't fit into a single size, we recommend prioritizing the chest fit to ensure comfort and prevent accidents!
